Step One Complete

Yesterday Alex went in for step one- to remove the hemo catheter. Before surgery began they tested her clotting factor. It was too high and caused a concern so they canceled the procedure. When they returned to their room, they discussed giving her platelets and vitamin K. Mom suggested they test her clot factor once more in a more formal fashion. The results came back perfect. It looks as though there was an error in the first test. This is a praise! With that said, they pushed the procedure back to today. Everything went fabulously. They removed the catheter and Alex is doing well. She and Mom have slept all day.

Since the procedure was postponed until today, they will not put a new catheter in until Thursday at 11:30. This is step two and it appears to be a little more tricky. However, the Lord will provide and take care of everything! Yes, we are all a little nervous but it is in His hand and we will cast our anxiety on Him. Please keep us in our prayers.

On a sorrowful note, a little girl whose family we have grown to adore past away last night. Her name is Dianna and she has had a tough fight in the hospital for almost one year. While Alex was in ICU we were neighbors and ran into each other quite a bit. Please lift Dianna's family up in your prayers tonight. Her family has fought for her for many years and they should know that the good Lord has their sweet angel in His arms tonight. We will miss Dianna but she fulfilled her purpose on this Earth and has gone on to dance with the angels and praise our Lord!
