Alex has been asking to get out of bed but she has been so weak and on so many meds everyone was a little pessimistic about her getting up yet. But today she was not asking but TELLING us she was getting out of bed. So that is exactly what she did. She first set up on the side of the bed, then she stood and took a step and then sat in the wheelchair. She only sat in it for about 5 minutes but she said it felt very good to get out of bed. We were all so proud of her for having the strength and courage to trust her body and get out of bed.
She had some visitors today, and she was so happy to see them. Andrew and Allison came back to see her for the first time since all this happened. When she saw Allison she started crying and gave her the biggest hug. She hugged little Andrew for so long that he had to wiggle out of her hug. I know that it meant so much to her to finally be able to see her niece and nephew. Allison was so excited to finally be able to see her Alex.
We will keep praying for her strength to return and praise God for all he has given her.
