Alex is back...at least her stubbornness is

As the sedation meds are slowly wearing off, Alex is slowly waking up...and she is not a happy camper. She isn't awake all of the time, maybe 10 minutes every hour. But when she is awake, she knows who is here and she wants to hold someone's hand. If anyone mentions moving her in bed or decreasing her Valium, she's up and at 'em! (By this I mean her eyes POP open and her little toes start moving.)It's a good thing to have her up (aware) periodically and re-introduce her to reality, but at the same time she needs to stay calm and allow her lungs to continue to heal.

As Alex continues to wake her body up, she will also awaken the inner beast... her stubbornness, irritability, frustrations and demanding nature. All the things we love about her! But we can't wait to hear that nasally voice start to holler at us...we know it is out of love!

Please keep praying. Alex needs to know that she is not in this alone. We continue to remind her that we are all here fighting with her and praying for her. Thanks for the love and prayers!
