Alex is still in and out of her state of awareness. We turned the ventilator down a little bit more. We are taking tiny steps towards recovery and breaking out of this place! Last night she struggled with the type of feed they were putting into her stomach and we had a little throw up session. It was disgusting to say the least. They have adjusted her feed rate and hopefully we won't have anymore barfing!
We still have to watch her like a hawk. Whether she is trying to cough or move her legs, she needs assistance. We are trying to understand her form of communication as much as possible, but we aren't doing so well. We remind her that her little body still needs rest to recover. Every once and a while she wakes up and doesn't realize what has happened. We give her a 30 second recap on her health and she falls back to sleep. Maybe this means that she won't remember the past two weeks!
